Exploring the Gold Coast

Gold Coast is where I was initially brought up spending all my teenage years on the main strip of Surfers Paradise missing school and catching waves at the beach every chance I had.

The Gold Coast offers an endless amount of things to do and see From the beaches to the theme parks and restaurants. Talk to anyone about the Gee Cee, and they will immediately talk about surfing or the magnificent beaches, however, try meeting some the local characters or sampling the great product in the local markets from Coolangatta to Carrara.

You also have local markets at Burleigh Heads or the idyllic location of the beachfront markets at Surfers Paradise.

The Gold Coast has been the location for some big-name movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean and even world-class surfing events not to mention the glitter of the strip surrounded by highrises to accommodate the thousands of visitors we get each year.

Gold Coast Hinterland

Why not hire a car and take some time out to visit the Green Hills of the Hinterland. Here, you’ll discover vineyards, waterfalls and places such as Springbrook National Park’s Natural Bridge and great Rain Forests that are hidden away.

The Gold Coast is a great place to discover on foot or bike. There’s more than a thousand kilometres of dedicated bike paths, including a 48 kilometre Darren Smith Memorial Route that runs from Coolangatta in the South of the Coast to Paradise Point in the North.
